About Joshimath

Joshimath is located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It is a quaint little town nestled amidst the mighty Himalayas en route to Badrinath, one of the Chardhams of Uttarakhand. Joshimath is also the junction point for people visiting Auli, one of the best skiing spots in India. Advenure loves to Trek Kuaripass Nandadevi. Although identified more as a stopover destination to Badrinath, Vishnu Prayag, Hemkund Saheb, Valley of Flowers and Auli, yet Joshimath has its own merit. Joshimath has got its own share of religious importance. It is one of the seats of one of the four Mathas (or Monasteries). In fact this is the only matha in northern region.
